Volunteer with the County Animal Shelter

With more than 18,000 animals coming into our care every year, our shelter is always in need of volunteers to help make the animals' stay as pleasant as possible, increase adoptions and provide foster care when needed. Volunteers are an invaluable component of our shelter and serve a number of important functions including walking dogs, socializing the cats, helping the public around the shelter, setting up special adoption events or calling people after they’ve adopted to answer questions. Volunteers really do make a difference!

Animal lovers from 18-years-old to senior with of variety of experience and skills are welcome to volunteer. There are many opportunities to help the shelter animals, at the shelter, from an adoption center or from home! View full list of volunteer opportunities at the Animal Shelter

For more information, contact Volunteer Coordinator Celeste Ingrid at 916-875-5848 or view our volunteer flyer.
